    Brisbane synth-pop charmer Mardi Lumsden's second album “Slow Emotion”, is out 17 November 2023.

    "Slow Emotion" transverses disco, indie pop and stargazer anthems written by Lumsden and husband/producer Andrew Pennay.

    Almost entirely self-sufficient, “Slow Emotion” is self-released, self-produced and recorded in their Brisbane home (a converted church) with tracks mixed by UK-based Charlie Holmes (Aurora, Ed Sheeran, Anna of the North) and mastered by Simon Francis (Charlie Puth, Julia Stone, Björk).

    In true paddock-to-plate style, Lumsden hand-poured the limited-run sunset vinyl herself, each one completely unique, thanks to Brisbane’s own Suitcase Records.


    The song “Slow emotion” is a glittering nu-disco gem that was added to Double J in December 2022 and was called "another stellar success" by Obscure Sound. The track “nineteen” was picked up by several international music blogs and radio including Obscure Sound, POPMUZIK, Illustrate Magazine, It’s all Indie, Existential Magazine, South Sydney Herald and The MIC. It was also a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition and Unsigned Only Music Competition this year.

    The track “Here if you need” is the theme song to a Mamamia podcast of the same name.
